Why we love this wine

Nicolas Vellas | Chardonnay | Terre De Louis NV | Burgundy, France

The small negociant project known as Les Terres de Philéandre, launched in 2018 by David Duband, is named after his twins Philomène and Léandre.  The first grapes purchased were from 1er Cru Les Serpentières in the village of Savigny-les-Beaune. More long-term contracts followed, giving substance and stability to the project.

For Burgundy lovers, David Duband is a household name. As Duband’s familiarity with these terroirs grows, so does his understanding of how to capture their essence in the glass. Through consistent observation and adaptation, the wines from Les Terres de Philéandre have quickly become some of the most compelling values we have tasted in the Côte d’Or…and it’s only the beginning!

Winemaking Style
Hand-harvested grapes are carefully sorted and whole-cluster pressed to preserve aromatic purity. After a 24-hour settling, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels (1–5 years old), where the wine is also aged for approximately 12 months. It is then racked into tank, rested for 3 months, and lightly filtered before bottling, ensuring clarity while maintaining texture and depth.
